Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain is a series of four weekly drawing classes funded in part by the City of Dallas’s Office of Arts and Culture. The classes will focus on improving students’ observational drawing skills by adopting a different unconventional drawing method each week. The methods are presented in Betty Edward’s book, Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, and include methods such as drawing with your non-dominant hand, and other such approaches. Students will receive a copy of the book, while supplies last, for optional readings to enrich class experiences. The classes are meant to be casual in nature and they’re open to artists of all levels, including absolute beginners. We hope you can join us for each of the four classes per cohort, but attendance at all four classes is not mandatory; however, advance payment for all four classes is. Drawing materials will be provided. This is the first of two cohorts planned for the spring of 2025.
